Road TRIP
Road Trip is much more than your average coverage band from Wisconsin!
While I’m not with Road Trip full time anymore, I do get the honor to sit in with them from time to time, like this video from October 2023 entertaining a post-Packer game crowd!
But the time I had with the band was certainly a trip (pun intended). Check out a full summer of gig crowds in the video below.
Here are some pictures from our poolside shows in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico. The electrifying sounds of Road Trip filled the air as they took the stage poolside in Mexico for a sizzling performance. With the sun-kissed audience swaying to their irresistible beats, the band delivered an unforgettable show, blending their signature high-energy tunes with the laid-back vibes of the paradise setting. The poolside extravaganza echoed with cheers as Road Trip's dynamic performance turned the afternoon into a musical fiesta, leaving everyone craving for more.
This band puts on a real life concert with huge video screens, one of the best light shows, state of the art sound and dedicated musicians and singers who love what they do and it shows. Lights, video, sounds, smoke, dancing and screaming fans create one of the greatest shows in the Midwest!
Award winning vocalists Shawn Connelly and Amy Jo Doty lead the band through a 3+-hour show filled with songs from everyone’s favorite artists. Pink, Chris Stapleton, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, Walker Hayes, Michael Jackson, Ozzy, and Guns and Roses are just a few of the bands Road Trip brings to life.
The music behind the vocals includes Dylan Morey on lead guitar, DJ Doty on rhythm guitar, Robert George Welsch Jr. on bass and Matt Gieseke on drums. These musicians take playing their instruments and performing very seriously. They not only learn the songs but they create new sounds and segues to keep the audience moving, surprised and wanting more. Every show they give 100% of themselves to their fans and to the music. They want every person to experience the party that the band is throwing; loud, wild, exciting, surprising, real and up-close!
Road Trip loves their music and they love their audience just as much. Their audiences are from all over and range from 5 years old to 85 years old. They aim to please all of them while enjoying some of the best music in the world. At a Road Trip show you will see a lot of dancing, smiling, laughing and letting loose. Weddings, festivals, company parties, bars, dance clubs and other private parties are where you will find the band bringing people together one song at a time.
Road Trip has won many awards throughout the years for Cover Band of the year a few times and Female and Male Vocalist of the year. Not to mention they have been nominated in at least one category every year for the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards (WAMI). Both the drummer and lead guitarist won music teacher of the year by Heid Music and WAMI.
Road Trip is a band that brings people together, to help them forget about their daily lives, and to get caught up in the moment. The band members are some of the most dedicated, approachable, serious, creative, real people in the music business today. Their band is not just a hobby to them, it is their life, their passion, their craft and they don’t plan on stopping in this lifetime!
